Every other month, Crockett third graders are visited by a guest reader. Often times the guest reader is the author! Parents, teachers, and students enjoy listening to the story and receive a free book to take home.

Crockett’s Library was given a donation of books by Patrick Peterson. This area is known as the Patrick Peterson Corner. Students can read quietly during library check out or the entire class can enjoy a library book being read aloud by Crockett’s School Librarian, Mrs. Erwin.

The City of Phoenix Zero Waste Team partners with Crockett students about composting and recycling. Each student played a fun game to apply what they learned, and received a cool book and pencil made of recycled tires. 😎 The City of Phoenix’s goal is to make Crockett the first elementary school in the state of Arizona to compost all school lunch food waste, in addition to creating a long-term recycling program. Older Crockdett students are given the task to mentor the younger grades to help support the success of the program! Way to go Bears! 👏
